Centre Parcs are the go to place for holidays in the UK – since the mid 1980s families from all over the UK have flocked for short breaks surrounded by nature. You have to agree, it’s a firm favorite and you can almost guarantee that you know someone whos been or is going to go?

But……..what if a break at Centre Parcs is out of your budget? Many of the team here at Toddler Breaks have young families, some of whom have visited, but some of us simply can’t justify paying the rates they charge – especially during school holidays! Worry not we have some alternatives to Centre Parcs for you.

The Toddler Breaks team have has more staycations and holidays in the UK with little ones than we’ve had hot dinners over the years so we like to think we know a little bit about what families need an want, some of these will be cheaper than Centre Parcs, some will be nicer than Centre Parcs – some wont be but we know different people want different things so here we go, our list of cheaper alternatives to Centre Parcs.

Bluestone, also known as Bluestone National Park Resort is often referred to as The Welsh Centre Parcs or a cheaper alternative to Centre Parcs – located in the West of Wales in the beautiful county of Pembrokeshire, which happens to be the ONLY coastal National Park in the UK!

Pembrokeshire has 186 miles of glorious coastline, Blue Flag beach’s and chocolate shop villages so before you even consider Bluestone we can guarantee that you are onto a winner with Pembrokeshire!

Bluestone offers luxury accommodation in the form of cottages or lodges – some sleep up to 14 people – ideal for a large family getaway! They have their very own Spa, Waterpark and an undercover area called the Serendome so you’ve things to do if the weather is bad. They have a huge choice of activities for all ages and offer takeaway and restaurants if you don’t want to self cater in their lodges.

Bluestone offers weekend, midweek and week long breaks and you can save 10% when you book a weeklong break.

Haven, historically have had a bit of a reputation as a caravan resort – that’s not wrong, they are, but have you seen the prices that caravans are to buy? Having stayed at Haven the caravan was nicer than my house! Haven have 37 locations all over the UK so you’re bound to find one either near you or near where you want to visit!

Haven do have lodges, not just caravans – they also offer Glamping so don’t be put off if you have your heart set on a lodge.

If you want a family activity holiday then they have everything from high ropes courses, archery, 4×4 safari, E-Bikes so so much for all the family – plus they have swimming pools, water parks and live entertainment.

If you’re anything like Carol here in the office, she wouldn’t be seen dead in a caravan but don’t just ignore Haven, have a look at the quality, see what you can do and you’ll be very surprised – they price is phenomenally cheaper than Centre Parcs and as long as the kids are happy, we know parents are happy!

Right, don’t scroll past, I know what you’re thinking – that’s a theme park, aimed at teenagers, why the heck are you suggesting it as an alternative to Centre Parcs? Well let us explain more…

If we were to say to you it had luxury accommodation – even Treehouses, themed hotel rooms, a waterpark, loads to do, lovely places to eat – what would you say now? What about CBeebies Land – oh now we’ve got your attention!
